What is SEN & Mental Health?

At FG Personal Training, we believe that exercise should be accessible, supportive, and empowering for everyone. Our SEN and mental health training sessions are designed to create a safe, welcoming environment where children and young people can develop confidence, movement skills, and positive wellbeing through physical activity.

Supporting Children with SEN

SEN & Mental Health

Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) can sometimes find traditional sports or physical education environments overwhelming. Our approach focuses on individual needs, patience, and encouragement, allowing every child to progress at their own pace.

Sessions are designed to be:

  • Structured but flexible to meet individual learning styles
  • Low pressure and inclusive, removing the fear of failure
  • Engaging and fun, helping children develop a positive relationship with exercise
  • Confidence building, focusing on small wins and personal progress

Activities may include basic strength exercises, balance and coordination drills, movement games, and simple fitness challenges designed to improve motor skills, body awareness, and self-belief.

Exercise for Mental Health

SEN & Mental Health

Physical activity is one of the most powerful tools for supporting mental wellbeing. Regular exercise can help reduce stress, improve mood, build confidence, and create a positive outlet for emotions.

Our sessions aim to help young people:

  • Build self-confidence and resilience
  • Reduce anxiety and stress
  • Improve focus and emotional regulation
  • Develop a sense of achievement and routine/

We focus on creating an environment where participants feel supported, respected, and valued, helping them experience the mental and emotional benefits of exercise.

A Safe and Supportive Environment

SEN & Mental Health

Our coaching approach places wellbeing first. Sessions are delivered with patience, understanding, and positive reinforcement to ensure participants feel comfortable and encouraged throughout.

We work closely with parents and guardians to ensure training is appropriate, supportive, and enjoyable for every child involved.
